Personal Suggestions to Vegetarians
As a doctor I had treat several vegetarian patients from as young as 20 years old to as old as over 60 years old. In my experience over 95% of them had what we TCM doctors called as Stomach Heat condition.

Most of the vegetables/fruits are actually cold in Chinese medicine philosophy. How come vegetarians have stomach heat? The reason is simple - most of the vegetables need to be processed to be more tasty. For example a person boiled some green vegetables for dinner, after boil the leaf usually become very dry and not really tasty, most of the vegans will add oil (planet/seed oil) to it to make it more edible, this process add a lot of “heat” to your meal. Another example is when you eat salad, can you image eating it without any seasoning or topping? Just the greens without olive oil, without thousand island or other sauces? It will not taste very good. Yet all these addons make salad a “heat” food. Also many vegetarians like to make vegan meat or other tasty food out of vegetable, again it is not really “healthy” to create these processed food.
What should I do?
It is advice to seek help from trustworthy acupuncturist to help balance your body condition, especially when you are suffering symptoms. Change and control your eating habit until symptoms disappear is also required.
Common source for vegetarian stomach heat:
Nuts (some nuts from store, although claimed as raw are baked or fried already, the really raw nuts have a weird smell and not really tasty).
Too much bread and toast
Processed food
Spice, hot sauce
Too much oil
Fried vegetables
Curry
