Pain Management

The concepts of "jingjin" (muscle meridians) and "jingluo" (meridians) are essential in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and play a key role in pain relief. The jingluo system functions like a "highway" in the body, transporting qi (energy) and nutrients, while jingjin are its extensions, acting like a "network" connecting bones and muscles to support body movement.

When the meridians are clear, qi flows smoothly, and the jingjin stay healthy, keeping the body comfortable. However, if there’s blockage in the meridians or poor qi circulation, the jingjin can become compromised, leading to pain and restricted movement. This is commonly seen in daily life, such as in cases of stiff neck or shoulder pain.

A stiff neck often results from poor sleeping posture, causing the neck’s jingjin to stiffen or get cold, making it painful to move. Shoulder pain, like frozen shoulder, occurs when the jingjin are overused or injured.

In TCM, treatments for these pains involve acupuncture and massage to regulate the meridians and jingjin. Acupuncture clears the meridians, allowing qi to flow and reducing pain, while massage relaxes tight muscles and restores jingjin function.

In short, the meridians and jingjin form the body’s "transportation" and "network" systems. TCM helps restore balance by adjusting this system, which is the core principle behind using TCM to treat pain.
